Services we are offering

Well infant / Well child check

Scheduled well child check visits are important to track your child's growth, health as well as overall physical and cognitive development, to check if developmental milestones are met. During those visits we are providing anticipatory guidance to assist parents in understanding the expected growth and development of their children. We couple those routine visits typically with the also very important vaccinations.

Sick visits (same day appoinment available)

If your child is sick during our office hours, call us. We may offer a same day appointment to see the patient. During after hours, if you feel you cannot wait until our office is open again, we advise you to go to an urgent care center, like the Children's at Hudson Bridge (CHOA) or another close by emergency room (Piedmont Henry Hospital). (If the condition of your child is life threatening call 911 for immediate assistance!)

Sports Physicals / School Physicals

A Sports or School physicals is also known as PPE (pre-participation physical examination). It is meant to determine whether or not a child is physically able to participate in a sport or other activity safely. When possible we coordinate the well check with getting your sports physical form filled out.

Vision screening

Vision screening done in our office is using simple methods to check for certain conditions that might need a referal to an eye specialist. The earlier those conditions are detected and treated, the better is the visual recovery and longterm prognosis.

Hearing screening

Early intervention and continuous surveillance are essential in the management of hearing loss in children. It is important to identify newborns who have hearing loss at 3 months of age so that intervention can start by 6 months of age. Not all kind of hearing impairements are present at birth. All infants and older children need to receive ongoing surveillance of hearing and communication skills with their regular health supervision vists.

Immunizations (and vaccination consultation)

Medical experts would say that vaccination is one of the prime strategies to improve child survival and reduce morbidity. We would like to put it a bit simpler. Following the recommended vaccination schedule is probably the best thing you can do to protect your children and assure that they have the best chances to grow up as healthy and strong as they can be.

Minor surgical procedures (e.g. suturing, foreign body removal)

Adequate wound care is required to help prevent infection and promote healing of the skin. Our physicians are proficient in treating smaller injuries like lacerations, cuts, sprains etc. In cases where it is necessary, they will refer the patient to a specialist.

It is a long, exciting, joyful and sometimes stressful journey to accompany your child from infancy, to taking the first steps, through early school age and adolescence until they finally reach adulthood. A lot of responsibility comes with it but also rewards. We will gladly be at your side to give you advice and guidance through that journey.

Telemedicine or Telehealth does not replace the in-person visit but rather adds to it. Unfortunately many insurance companies have dropped their coverage of telemedicine after they supported it for a while during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic. You can ask your insurance about it if you are interested. Even if the service is not covered it might still make sense for some parents and patients in certain circumstances. Consultations could work well using the telehealth tools. It could save you travel time and potentially avoid missed school and/or work. Give us a call if you want to know more. We will determine with you if the service can work for you.
